Luck by Design

This publication is an investigative report on a subject of luck.
More particularly, it is a design investigation into relationships that situations of chance, finance and human suffering create within contemporary society.

Luck by Design

About: This document brings together notes from covertly recorded meetings of Anonymous Gamblers, schemes for producing profitable accidents and designs for a better penny picking.

Design Challenge: Communicating this work was a challenge  from both an editorial and a disciplinary point of view.
In turn, it was chosen to be presented as a collection of
semi-separate ‘investigations and reports’ dotting around various social situations that in different ways connect to the word ‘luck'.

Result: The concept of a narrative dictated a visual language - the document was designed keeping a rather unemotional and bold visual style pinned with a ‘slightly adjusted’ contemporary sign for luck - National Lottery logo.
